Tanisha Atrey, Look 2: A New Collection from In Her Own Time

I’m sharing Tanisha Atrey’s Look 2 from In Her Own Time (IHOT) on FOI.ONE, with a 135-photo collection for FOI MERCH members and a 10-photo preview for Early Access members.

A quiet moment within IHOT

IHOT began with my intention to give each woman space to be herself. The project focuses on presence, expression and individuality, leaving room for viewers to find their own meaning in a photograph.

In this look, pale lingerie and warm amber tones sit against the dark wooden furniture of the room. The setting gives the portraits a quiet, intimate atmosphere, while keeping attention on Tanisha’s expression and posture.

For me, a photograph does not need to explain everything. A pause, a glance or the position of a hand can leave a story open. That freedom to interpret is part of what I want to preserve throughout In Her Own Time.
