FOI STUDIOS 2026

I did not make foistudios.in to start again.

Face of India opened in Kolkata in 2017. The work since then has been photography first, then cinema, music, analogue process, magazine chapters, and the notes that follow. By August 2026 the house had reached its hundredth major production. That is enough evidence to need a door that does not rearrange itself overnight.

Instagram, YouTube, Behance and the membership rooms still matter. People find us there. I still post there. What I will not do is let a feed be the only memory of a sitting, a song, or a person who trusted the camera.

A rented room is good at the hour something is posted. It is poor at the year after. It hides a production diary under a reel. It treats a muse, a lighting plot and a private film as the same unit of content. That is not how this house works.

foistudios.in is the courtyard we hold the keys to.

Here a page can keep a date, an author and a sequence. A reader can come back next year and find the same room. Search can read it. A free member can like, comment and save without turning their presence into a public performance. When a collection or a long film is meant to stay private, it lives behind the doors built for that: FOI.ONE for the archive, YouTube members for most of the boudoir films. This site stays public, dated and honest about what it is.

We built it as a house, not as another grid.

Photography leads. Cinema, music, analogue work and artist stories live with it. If you arrive from a still, a score or a journal note, you should feel you have entered one world with several doors. Not a pile of websites that forgot each other.

The site is still being built. Some days the work is a sitting. Some days the work is an error on a page. Both belong here. I would rather show the house while the paint is wet than wait for a perfect launch that never comes.

If you have been following FOI on rented platforms, this is the invitation. Come to the house.

Read the journals. Enter The Hundredth Chamber. Meet the artists as collaborators, not props. Join FOI for free if you want to save a story and return. The complete collections stay where they belong. The courtyard stays open.

We made this so original people, feelings, processes and stories from contemporary India can last beyond the scroll. Not as a slogan. As the job.
